Easy Simple Job backstory

The story

The story behind our game isn't complicated, inspired by a video narrating a story on Reddit that tells about a guy that gets a simple but suspicious job in an office, and certain scary things happen. The objective of the game is to transport you into the story and make you feel like that guy, but changing the things a little bit, obviously just making noises and moving things may not scare you, so we decided to make a nostalgic FNAF-ish gameplay style, where you have certain tasks and you have to constantly make sure everything it's okay, cause if it's not, you die. This makes you feel stressed and distract you from the screamer that completes the game's objective, which is to scare you.

How did the idea come to us?

The main guy who came up with the idea was Gustavo, he was the one who saw the videos from Reddit stories along with his girlfriend. In his words "I enjoyed watching these kinds of videos, these videos were introduced to me by my girlfriend, and I thought that may be kinda interesting if you are the one doing this kinda tasks in a horror game, I see my self enjoying this game. I talked with my girlfriend about the idea and she liked it, she encouraged me to do it, and said that it would be a good game. So when the semester finished, I started developing in Unity and downloaded all the assets I needed to recreate the scenario in my mind, and piece by piece, with the Ramen Team, developed the game". At the time this article is posted, the game is in beta, but it's going to be developed more and more, so feel free to comment on itch.io with your thoughts, ideas, and reports bugs to keep improving the game.

Coding with emojis?

Emojis are truly useful in some cases, they can add emotions to our messages so their true meaning doesn't fly over our recipient's head, but should we use them for coding?
